Hello, my name is Chip Auten and I would like to tell you about my passion for creating the most beautiful Hardwood Floors that can compliment and even be the focal point of the American home today. This passion is fueled first and foremost for the love of wood, its charm, and history that it offers us for any corner of our homes. My first taste of this was in Jr. High woodshop class where I learned to cut, mold, shape, and create gorgeous decorative pieces such as lamps, bowls, tables, and finally even a roll top desk that my father uses in his office to this day.

While in college, I was fortunate to work with a skilled craftsman who taught me how to work with wood flooring. Seven years later I felt the calling to steer my own business, with the desire to create a look that can not be bought at any retail store. This look of natural wood flooring does not come out of any box. Hands on craftsman are a dying breed, but it makes me very proud to not only see the beauty in a project when completed but to see the smile on our customers’ face.

Auten Hardwood Floors has been crafting Floors in the Knoxville area since January of 1998. In that time we have built the most reputable name among homeowners, builders, decorators, architects, and designers.

We strive to stay at the top of our industry through education, certifications and product knowledge. A good example of this would be the use of dust collection systems on all sanding equipment, leaving your home as clean as possible. When it comes to flooring selection, we have sought out the very best quality flooring that is available in our industry. Why start a job with inferior wood, causing future failures for your new investment. We are very involved with the National Wood Flooring Association which gives us direct communication with the grandfathers who wrote the book on correct flooring craftsmanship. It takes more than a truck and a cell phone to create a beautiful floor that you will cherish for many years to come.
